At the age of 43, my husband said to me "I cannot stand to hear you complain about your back anymore. You are going to go see my chiropractor") His chiropractor took a full body X-ray. He said that he could not treat me and sent me to my physician. I had an osteochondroma in my upper thigh. (A serious bone tumor the size of a baseball). My surgeon informed me that if it had not been found soon, it would have turned cancerous and I would have lost my leg. I had an excellent surgeon and good recovery. By the way, I had been going to my physician for years complaining about my lower back. They took an X-ray and told me I had chronic low back strain. The treatments they gave me were to take pain pills and muscle relaxants. I had to ask for physical therapy.

Unfortunately, I didn't learn my lesson. I figured my low back pain was incurable. I did exercises daily and limited my lifestyle, found a new profession, and gave up the idea of having children. Between the ages of 54 and 55, I hurt my back three times, which wasn't hard to do. The last time I was afraid I was going to be an invalid. My husband had to do all the housework and prepared all our meals. I was unable to do anything. I tried to keep walking because I knew that walking really helps the back. My stomach felt like I had a big hole in it. I almost felt nauseated. I was desperate. My friend at church told me about their chiropractor. I had nothing to lose. My insurance wouldn't pay for it. But I had to choose, would I pay to try something. Yes, I would! My physician had only taken X-rays, told me I had scoliosis, and prescribed pain pills and muscle relaxants.

I am sickened to see so many of my friends taking medications. I will tell you plainly. You will become addicted. I was a nurse and I have seen this with my own eyes. I am sad that people are trusting their doctor instead of using their own common sense.

My chiropractor did an exam and took X-rays. He showed me the scoliosis and kyphosis on the X-rays. Kyphosis is excessive curvature of the spine at the neck or lower back. Scoliosis is curvature to the side. He began regular Atlas Orthogonal treatments which uses 3 pounds of sound wave pressure! No snap, crackle or pop. After four months I could not believe that I was pain free. I don't take any medication, only a few vitamins. I try to eat low fat, balanced diet with a lot of fruits and vegetables and juice. I do daily exercises and I try to swim three times a week. I still believe that daily exercise are vital for sustained strength to keep the spine in shape. Whenever I hear anyone complain of pain I recommend my chiropractor. I am so sure that he can help them too. Spinal misalignment causes pinched nerves and this can be corrected. I recommend that you check out the credentials of your chiropractor and seek gentle scientific treatment.

I would recommend Dr. Jacobs in a heart beat

This is my first experience at a chiropractor office. Dr. Jacobs has done a great job adjusting my back. I haven't felt this good for 6 to 12 months.
